My Why

For as long as I can remember, I have always been looking for what my life’s purpose is. Before pottery I felt I had no purpose, I was flying by the seat of my pants, working an exhausting corporate job that sucked the life out of me, and trying to figure out what my niche was. Since finding my love for pottery, teaching & community, my purpose has continued to grow and flourish, from a hobby into my entire life’s calling. It has been the most beautiful journey to discover what my purpose in life is, and finding it was like an epiphany.

A big connection I’ve made along this journey is “My Why'“. I’m just the type of person to seek the deeper meaning in everything, whether that be a negative situation or just why I am drawn or called to do certain things. My Why has become the most important question to me about all of this, and it’s the energy I bring to every class, every market, every interaction and every workshop I do.

“My Why is fostering a sense of community & connection to create freely in a safe, supportive & gentle environment.”

I do what I do because I have a passion for people, community, pottery and making people feel safe. When you give people the gentle and supportive environment to create and be themselves, they flourish beyond belief, and their true artists shine through, I’ve seen it happen with my own eyes in my classes.

Pottery isn’t about just making beautiful art and making a lot of money, it is SO much more than that. It’s about community and being yourself, and creating and trying new things and using it as a form of therapy to relax after a long week. I’m so lucky that I get to live my life’s purpose with that always in mind.
